Transylvania, home to one of the most famous counts in literary history, is a must-see destination on your visit to Romania. You will get to explore the influence of different cultures and visit the historic region.
Departure is at 08:00AM from the Romanian Athenaeum on Revolution Square (10 min walk from Epoque Hotel, through the wonderful Cismigiu gardens). The tour will start with the Transylvanian Alps to Sinaia, which was named after the Biblical Mount Sinai and is known for its beautiful late 17th-Century Byzantine monastery. Here you will visit the neo-classical Peleș Castle, built on a medieval route that linked Transylvania to Wallachia. The highlight of your cultural tour will be in the afternoon, when you visit the medieval Bran Castle, better known as Dracula’s Castle. The Castle is associated with the real Vlad the Impaler who became the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s famous vampire Count Dracula.
In the afternoon you also get to take a short walk in Brasov, where you will be able visit the medieval town.
The day will end with the gorgeous mountain scenery as you get back to Bucharest. Drop off is back to the starting point at Revolution Square at around 20:00.
